Section 480 CrPC — Practising pleader not to sit as Magistrate in certain Courts
Replaced from 1 July 2024 by BNSS 526 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023. Offences committed on or before 30 June 2024 are still charged under the CrPC.
The law now: BNSS 526 — Practising advocate not to sit as Magistrate in certain Courts
No advocate who practices in the Court of any Magistrate shall sit as a Magistrate in that Court or in any Court within the local jurisdiction of that Court.
